She has graduated from the Riga French Lycee and is currently studying French philology at the Univeristy of Latvia. In her Laura Dreiže (born 1990 in Riga) is a Latvian author of fantasy and sci-fi novels for young adults. It is a paranormal romance concentrating on the relationship between a vampire and a human girl on the backdrop of a revolution in the vampire world. Laura's second novel THE UNFINISHED KISS was published in November 2010. It was nominated for Best Debut Novel by the Latvian Writers' Association in 2010 and came in as the runner-up in the Children's Choice Awards section that encompassed 9th to 12th grade. Her debut novel THE SONG OF THE DRAGON was published in 2010 by the leading publishing house of Latvia, Zvaigzne ABC.

At least, that’s the case until one thing becomes clear: the old gods want to break out of their prison in another dimension and regain control over our world. No one else pays any attention to these events, because no one else can see them. While conflict grows between mythical beings from different dimensions due to Corbin’s rash actions, Candy notices strange things happening: blind mice running around the newspaper’s editorial office, children playing on moonlit streets, and more. The sleepy small town turns out to be the epicentre of important global events, as another dimension – magical, mysterious and dangerous – exists just beyond our visible one. Café employee Corbin has a reckless plan in mind, related to his dual heritage – he’s half human, half fay. Journalist Candy flees from one home to the next, because her dead sister, a poltergeist, invisibly follows her everywhere. Both Candy and Corbin, though, have something to hide.
Thus Spoke Mother Goose is a fantasy novel about two apparently ordinary young people, who run into each other in the humdrum little English town of Tingsbury.
