In a world where Rip has done some bad things in the past and Luna has family that will come to screw her life apart, all their choices make sense at the very end. I would think she is a bit weak and fragile, but not the case anymore. I like to be surprised by people and to prove me wrong when I wrongfully categorize them, and for sure Luna got me there. “I swear to God, you’re a fucking puzzle I thought was all in the box, but every damn day I find a piece or two hidden all over the place.” I got mad when she did not stand for herself and made easier for others to just use her and treat her bad, but man, she got them in the end! I liked how she was there for everybody and how her little things affected them, like remembering birthday cakes and anniversaries for her colleagues.

I enjoyed that Luna works at a place where she is the only female in a world of men. The reason they are in a better place is because she has devoted her life to taking care of them and I don’t think she was repaid for her life choices. When I say take care of her, I mean somebody to really get her and just be there for her in a way that she is always to her sisters. She is so positive and helps others that much, that she becomes the one who is always left aside and has nobody to take care of her soul.

I enjoy books where the female lead starts slow, and uncovers to be a real bad-ass woman, which is the case here: Luna Allen is a unique woman who avoids confrontations at all cost and annoys the heck out of Rip.

“The best decisions of my life had been those I’d jumped into terrified even though some part of me knew they were necessary.”Īgain, I read her books without checking anything before, I just buy them or pre-order it as soon as they are visible and read them with an evil grin because I know I will not be disappointed. Mariana Zapata introduced me to slow burns, and I feel like I owe it to her to enjoy it as much as I can. I really just enjoy it as much as I can and read them as slow as I can, because for me, they are food to my soul. While others may think this book is long, or that maybe too much detail is brought into it, I actually don’t mind that on her books. I cannot wait what she delivers next, but man, I’ll be there waiting. Before reading Luna and the Lie, I though Mariana Zapata was good, but now, I think she is one of my favorite authors to read.
